SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

HOPE PLACE

SEATTLE'S UNION GOSPEL MISSION

NEW BUILDING

Hope Place is an 80,000 sf five-story building providing emergency shelter and recovery services for homeless women and children seeking restoration. 102 rooms for the program clients are provided on the upper floors of the building. The ground floor provides the Hope Place welcome center, counseling services, dining and food preparation, daycare services, and community health resources. The second floor is home to the recovery program facilities, including meeting rooms, exercise rooms, computer lab, job training, beauty shop, and administrative offices.

The building is designed to provide a safe, welcoming, comfortable "home" for the mission's clientele who live in the facility for about 12 months, and support the wide and varied program needs. Throughout the design and construction of this donor-supported project MLA worked diligently to ensure that the mission was provided with the maximum impact for each dollar spent. It is gratifying to see that the facility is meeting UGM's needs and is successful in supporting their work in restoring the lives of those who have come to them for help.
